Covering Moms for Liberty Summit/March for Kids

I had the opportunity at the end of August and the start of September to cover the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors Summit and the March for Kids in Washington, D.C. I have covered some pretty exciting events and news over time, but nothing was exciting as covering a Moms for Liberty event!

To think I had the opportunity to interview people such as one of the Moms for Liberty founders Tiffany Justice, Maud Maron, Rebecca Friedrichs of For Kids and Country, and several other amazing people was truly an honor. I even was able to cover speeches and conversations with Donald Trump and Tulsi Gabbard!

Check out the stories below (and I will add some footage from some video interviews soon).

A Harris-Walz victory would be devastating for parents’ rights, kids, say co-founders of Moms for Liberty

Moms for Liberty co-founders Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich are rallying parents across the U.S. to protect parental rights, especially with the upcoming presidential election between Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. They warn of a "bleak future for parental rights" if Harris wins and emphasize the need for voters to engage at all levels of government. Justice highlights the educational decline, pointing to school test scores and concerns over critical race theory, urging parents to vote and participate in local elections. Moms for Liberty aims to continue advocating for parental rights, influencing legislation and school board decisions nationwide.

Prominent women leaving Democratic Party over education

Tulsi Gabbard, Shawn Thierry, Maud Maron, and Jennifer Sey shared their reasons for leaving the Democratic Party. Thierry, a Texas state representative, even announced her departure due to pressure from Democrats over sex-change legislation for minors. Gabbard had previously left the party in 2022, criticizing its "elitist cabal." Maron, a former public defender, left in 2023, citing concerns over far-left policies, while Sey, who resigned from Levi Strauss, advocated for free speech and protecting children. Former President Donald Trump also addressed the summit, emphasizing parental rights and his Agenda 27, which aims to cut federal funding for schools pushing critical race theory and gender ideology.

Who will speak for the children? Parents, advocates march for the welfare of children

Hundreds of parents rallied in Washington, D.C., at the March for Kids to advocate for parental rights and child safety in education. Held during the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors National Summit, the event featured powerful speeches and performances, including Mary Millben’s song "On to Victory: A Mother’s Anthem." Key speakers, like Tulsi Gabbard and Glenn Beck, addressed concerns about public schools' influence on children, while Rebecca Friedrichs criticized teachers' unions for hindering student success, referring to them as an "education cartel." January Littlejohn told The Lion of the harmful effects of gender ideology and transitions on children's mental health. Advocates called for action to protect the future of America's children and restore parental rights in education.
