Labor Day is a Communist Holiday, but Conservatives and Pro-Free Market People Can Celebrate!

Freelancing

Happy Labor Day!

Yes, many people are going to see Labor Day as a communist holiday and even say we shouldn’t celebrate today. Believe it or not, there are many labor issues that are conservative or pro-free market, so yes, we can celebrate!

Let us not forget the progress this country has made significant with right-to-work laws. Nobody should be forced to join labor union in a workplace or even pay dues to a union they disagree with, as it is anti-free speech and anti-freedom of association.

Over 60 million people in the United States have turned to freelancing, and as a mother this is especially important to me as I love being able to work how I want and when I want. Nearly half the will be freelance will be freelancers by 2027.

Reforming occupational licensing can make it easier for people to build up skills necessary to work. Some laws have made it harder for people to work, including some states taking away licenses if they do not pay back student loans.

Let us also not forget to support small business owners and entrepreneurship! That is the heart of fighting for free-market issues!

A lot of labor issues are also related to education! Teachers have to get work licenses, and some states make it long and hard for them to get it. Some even require substitute teachers to spend a long time and a lot of money to get a substitute teacher license. It should not be as difficult to get a teachers license.

Also, it can be difficult for schools to start up in states like Iowa or Nevada, as they require secular private schools to have a licensed teacher, but religious private schools do not require them. It picks winners and losers. This especially makes it difficult for microschools to be private schools, and they have to go the homeschooling route.

Many microschool leaders also invite guests who they have to pay as freelancers, and they have to pay themselves and are often considered self-employed.

We should encourage state legislatures to pass laws supporting freelancers and pro-free market labor ideas such as portable benefits and occupational licensing reform and not pass laws that restrict the freedom to work even more.
